Tour Details

Located to the East of Pare mountains near same town about 190km from Arusha. Mkomazi National park lies along edge of a semi-arid savanna arc that stretches into Kenya’s Tsavo Ecosystem which is the largest second trans-boundary ecosystem in East Africa after the famous Serengeti.

It covers an area of 3,245sq km. The Umba river and other water hole make the park a home of small and large mammals including silver backed jackal, lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, buffalo, elephant and zebra with the rare gerenuk, lesser kudu and fringe-eared Oryx.

The uniqueness of this national park are protection of black rhino and wild dog which are endanger. Is a fascinating destination for bird watchers having more than 450 avian species including Eurasian migratory.

The park is well maintained, the cottages are clean, beds are comfortable and the WiFi worked OK at the main area. We managed to see the Rhino, Lions, Buffaloes, Giraffes and so many other animals.
